Computer Questions - 11-22-2008, 07:54 PM

I've already got my problem solved by somebody, but I always have computer troubles.

I think this thread can be used to ask computer questions and anybody is free to respond and assist that person.

I know I'll be posting here often...

Thanks for reading!

Question-- are you using Internet Explorer? The problem might fix itself if you just use Firefox. (that's what my BF said to tell you >.<)

Just get your own PC/laptop and you won't have to worry about your brother watching porn on the same PC you use.

Thank you for the reply. I was talking with another JF member a moment ago and he fixed my problem. He told me to get FireFox, which I'm going to download tonight, but Active X wouldn't allow me to download it for some reason. I have Internet Explorer, but now I'm going to use FireFox.

Firefox is better than Internet Explorer is so many ways, it would take days to list everything, whether it be technical comparisons or obvious ones.

I have a question: Every time I try to restart or shut down my laptop a screen comes up saying "Installing updates 1 of 1" and it just stays that way for hours. I normally just unplug it and let it die, then it starts up normal again. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

I'm guessing this happens during the shutdown process right, when it shows the blue screen and "Window is shutting down" or whatever? After you log out, windows updates itself before shutting off...but that's weird that it just freezes. Only 1 update too, should be super fast o_o. Might wanna get that checked out if the problem persists. That's good that it's not preventing your computer from starting up normally though.
