Dodes Ka-Den

I liked it...a lot...the old man in the movie was hilarious...when he walks up to the drunkard with his umbrella in the rain and tries to take the sword from him. It's funny how the drunkard gives up on swinging it at everyone...lol...hillarious. Ahh...but what happens to the homeless child was too sad...that totally made me cry... *sigh* I'm such a sucker. lol.

Awesome film. Make sure you watch the original 2 parter not the edited Western version.

Watched Yoji Yamada's Love and Honor earlier this week.

Its an interesting story of a samurai food taster for the imperial family and how life teaches him a few hard lessons. Though the time frame is far from today, some of his sentiments about his career and family translate completely to modern life.

Only an open mind and open heart can be filled with life.
