Teenage pregnancy

Hey hey hey. I'm 18. Not pregnant.
Don't plan to be until college and marriage first. (I love families, so...)

But my nephew was the result of teen pregnancy. My brother was 16. His now ex was 17.

Yeah, it was hard for my former-sister-in-law...but...now her and my nephew are doing great.
He's 11 in two months.
Very intelligent kid. Learning Gaelic and Korean on his own. (For the same reasons I took up Japanese and Sign Language.)

I'm glad he's in this world.
He's my life.
Not all teen pregnancies are bad things. Yes, they're usually more difficult.
But it doesn't mean your life is ruined either.
You make what you can of it

I am glad for your nephew and now we have someone else here who could add some light. Did the parents feel it was their fault that their kids got pregnant?

My thoughts on teen pregancy? Keep your legs closed, it's not all that hard! I'm 20 and a virgin. All throughout high school I never slept with any guy (I didn't have a boyfriend, but that didn't seem to matter at my school). I don't plan to have kids until I've got my carrer all set.

It's as simple as this teens, don't accept drinks from guys you don't know and keep your legs closed, it's amazing how well that works. *Rolls eyes*

If they're responsible enough to have unprotected sex - then they're asking for pregnancy and STD's. Just saying.

If accidents happen then abortion is the way to go if you're not prepared for having children.

I don't see why abortion as such a bad label attached..

So? When a condom works, it kills billions of potential children all in one go and nobody gives a fcuk. When you kill just one potential child the planet goes nuts.

I suppose same thing happend when condoms were invented (every sperm is scared, anyone?) but now theres adverts on TV for them daily... or.. nightly.. whatever.

20 years time and they'll be adverts on telly for abortions or the next best thing at that point thanks to technology - I'll put money on it.

This is why I'm pro choice.
If they feel like they can be mothers, let them, but in my opinion, when you're a teenager, you're just about maturing, there is so much to learn about the world and in a sense, you're giving it all up if one gets pregnant.

It's not bad, or good, it's just to me, it seems pointless.
I want to have kids when i'm old enough to look after myself and another person. at 14-18, you don't even know how to lookf out for yourself.

Abortion itself is not so bad, I'd say. It's more the limit of time to WHEN you're allowed to get it done. Some countries allow up to 16 weeks to pass, which offends some people, as the child's heart will be beating around that time and many features of the human body has already been developed.

I don't have a problem with abortion. But the people who do are stupid. Stupid teens who get pregnant actually make a smart choice when they seek an abortion. Why stop them when they've learned from their mistakes? This is what happens when you let stupid people run the government.
