Who's Your Hero?

What's up, negros, caucasians and mongoloids,

Just wondering, is there anyone in history you favor? Maybe even the present (though I think modern people are mostly boring).

I make this thread so that moderatly black people can learn about history and great people before them.

I have 3 Hero in total. I'll talk about the others later in the thread if no one spams it. But right now I'll introduce my latest inspiration, Manfred von Richthofen.

He is known to have murdered over 80 men (aircraft) in mortal combat. Yet, the possibility exists that he may have actually murdered well over 100 men. Yet this is unconfirmed.

He flew those dull planes in the WWI.

He fought for Germany.

Please provide links to any Hero.

why would you have someone as a hero, who murdered people?

one of mine is the Dalai Lama.

Name: Socrates (469BC - 399BC)

"Socrates was a Classical Greek philosopher. Credited as one of the founders of Western philosophy, he is an enigmatic figure known only through the classical accounts of his students. Plato's dialogues are the most comprehensive accounts of Socrates to survive from antiquity" - Socrates - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Name: Viriathus (? - 139BC)

"Viriathus was the most important leader of the Lusitanian people that resisted Roman expansion into the regions of Western Iberia (as the Romans would call it), where the Roman province of Lusitania would be established (in the areas comprising Portugal, south of the Douro river, and Extremadura in Spain). Viriathus led the Lusitanians to several victories over the Romans between 147 BC and 139 BC before he was betrayed to the Romans and killed. Of him, Theodor Mommsen said "It seemed as if, in that thoroughly prosaic age, one of the Homeric heroes had reappeared."" - Viriathus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I great man. A great leader and a genius in warfare. Not only was his mind great, but he was quite the scholar too. He knew where he was beat, like against the Assassins, and instead he used hos head to get around that.

Sima Yi. For a man to go against Zhuge Kongming and live through it, is quite a formidable feat.

Are you saying none of those people who fought and died protecting their own country are heroes? They murdered a lot. They are much more heroes than anyone else.

Dude, are you Arab or Muslim, or both?

I know a lot about Saladin. He seemed pretty skilled and chival. But, in the end, his character was tested by the Crusaders, and he adopted his principal of Jihad, and raped the land, murdered the innocent.

Not that that is a exceptionally bad thing. Most Hero did it. Yet I just dislike seeing him portrayed as a Saint.
