Japanese Culture Festivals - 07-13-2009, 01:10 AM

Today I'm going to a Japan-society culture festival in Anchorage. They will have taiko drums, art, and Japanese food.

Does your town have something similar?

Yes, it's in August.

...wait, you probably don't mean people in Japan.

The Japanese embassy held one in my city on Sat.

It was interesting... Taiko was cool. Japanese traditional fashion was interesting and the goth stuff looked cool...

I learnt how to make different kinds of sushi and ate takoyaki.

All in all a good day

Have fun

Not yet my town is really small, but there was a hanami hosted by Oxford University's Japan Society this year that was a lot of fun. I don't think Japanese culture would make for a big festival in my area though, not when we already have a wealth of summer festivals. Not much better entertainment than Cheese Rolling
