Ordered some Japanese books, and... - 01-23-2010, 07:44 PM

The pages were ordered in your standard American way. No right-to-left business here. Is this common in Japan these days? The books ranged from 100-600 pages and were by different publishers so that's what makes me curious

Horizontally written books > Same page order as in English. e.g. natural science books.

Vertically written books > Opposite page order. e.g. novels.

It has nothing to do with "nowadays".
