I wasn't asking for advice :p I just wondered why you guys think it's true people seem to take things for granted. . .

My childhood house burned down not long ago, and it's still affecting me. That's probably the biggest thing I've ever lost, and it will probably always stick with me and affect me. I never imagined it being taken away from me, since it's always been there - that's why I took it for granted.

I've been robbed before. It sucks, but if it's something like a Wii that was taken, it can easily be replaced.
