Subtitle making software
 

Hey does anybody know of (hopefully free) subtitle making software? I know I could just google it, but I was wondering if anybody has worked with anything they could recommend. Basically I just wanna be able to add subtitles to some avi files so my fiance and I can enjoy them together. Thanks

I don't think there's any program that can make subtitles from .avi files. I think your best bet would be to download the subtitles somewhere else I'm afraid.

Only problem is there is no subtitles for these files. I would be the creator.

Well if you don't minding typing them out yourself and time them to match the movie I guess making a simple .srt wouldn't be too hard. Though it would be time consuming to say the least depending on the length of the movie.

You could look into Subtitle Creator. I downloaded some time back, trying to convert a .ass file into normal sub, but that didn't go anywhere. I haven't created any subtitles on it, so I'm not sure how it'll work out on your end.
