And the other half
Behind the black curtain

An eye bright
As the sun

And the other
Behind the black curtain.

My Life Sucks- The kids I babysit have drooled, ripped or drawn on all of the cards and put the cars with the little people in the microwave!

I have no Friends- The cats have scratched and destroyed all of the DVDs!

I always owe someone- In fact I put two os in it!

I always ruin my clothes with Bleach!- The show is so dom suspensful I spill my grape soda on them!

But . . .I'll live.

I am very interested in agglutinating languages and consider them quite challenging to use and requiring high level of regular practice. And Japanese is maybe the most famous one in this group (together with Korean probably), so I chose studying it

I started teaching myself because I always loved East Asia, and other languages.
Before Japan it was China.
And before China it was Sweden. (I made a leap into China at age 6.)
I was 8 years old. Had neighbors that were a mixed family. The mother from Osaka, the father from here. With a four-year-old daughter. They all spoke japanese.
I got so tired of being left out.
And I started getting interested in it. If I saw anything that I thought was japanese related I would get excited and go to the family to learn more.
By age 12 I became more serious about the language. I was into anime for a little while there but I learned, that anime =/= japanese culture, history, etc.

I love learning anything historically about Japan, even what they did wrong...
I can speak pretty well verbally, but I need to get better at reading and writing.

I am also learning Korean as well, and seeing some connections gets me all excited like a little kid.

I wanna become either a game designer or an animator. I originally wanted to work for ghibli, but they could be closing...

Because it's a pain in the ass living here (Japan) without speaking Japanese. I mean, you can totally get by without it, but it's not very fun.

I really never had people ask me that question, But I would tell them I would have my reasons. I would like to learn it cause (like you) I like the Japanese culture and I think its an interesting language. I also have thought from time to time of moving there for a few years just to get out of the country and experience the world a little, so learning it would help . Good luck for me learning it though, there is no college where I live that has a japanese course except for private religious schools
