Whats the best to have in life--------- A JOB, a career or a vocation?

Can one succeed with out attending a University?

Is there always the right job out there once you have your degrees?

Richard Brenson didn't finish 9th grade. in this world you really don't need high education to achieve something. however your chances of that happening are very limited. there are plenty of bimbo idols who have fame and money but no brains solely because of the general public who watch them - the bachelor, -got talent and millions of other shows.

that is very true-- and as you say-- the talent shows on TV etc that springboard some people into the limelight.

Recently we had a show called "THE APPRENTICE". ALan Sugar or should I now say SIR ALAN SUGAR is a big business man--- who has really made it in the world of Business, has a show where a selection of GO AHEAD young men and women are sent out to different tasks-- and the team that brings back the most money-- is the winner. it is very cut-throat-- but also very amusing.

entrepeneurs often begin small but are prepared to take risks and develop their businesses.

one person succeed with out attending a University, it's possible but will be much more difficult for that person find a good job than someone who attends a university.

Of course there are cases of people with so much talent that the lack of university education ends up not making a difference, but this kind of situation is very rare.

I think attend a university is a great differencial in a person's carrer, but it isn't all. I have to admit that attend a university isn't a guarantee of a good job but this can make the things more easier when you are searching for a job.

I suppose a lot must also depend on the kind of work that you wish to do.

The old apprentice system used to be an excellent way to teach practical skills On the Job.

I wonder how many craftsmen/women will be around to carry on the traditional skills.

The farmers, blacksmiths, etc.

thanks for telling me that ROBIN. I just found a website re apprenticeships. Its good to know that they do still offer places. I wonder if our current governent supports those who Offer there apprenticships?

whether there is financial reward for taking on students?

There was a time when Apprenticeships were almost the NORM.

There was the YTS Scheme-- but I suspect that fell by the wayside.

I wonder if JAPAN has such schemes?
