I have contacts for just about every single eye color.
And nothing has happened to me o.o
I have really sensitive eyes to, so you should be fine.
Buy some cheap ones from a flee market to test them out.
These are some I got for 5 dollars at a flee market.

Thing is with contacts like that is you have to really look the part.
Like one friend of mine wore some Manson looking ones... with normal clothes.
She looked ridiculous. Lol x.x

Yes it can look really ridiculous. but Vi (Viola Johnson's Biography) can really carry it off.... even in her everyday street clothes. That was part of the humor of the whole afternoon. And her fangs are not plastic, they are porcelin crowns so they work very well. <swoon>

I would probably be one of those looking ridiculous, except of vary special occasions.

My teeth are actually nearly fangs as they are, they just grew like that. They look nasty on me though >.< I want normal ones!
