Blackouts in Tokyo

I'm going to be travelling to Tokyo in a week or so, and I'm having troubl finding more exact information on the power situation. I'll be staying in a hotel in Akihabara, but I'll be doing quite a bit of traveling around the city by train. Are they scheduled? How long do they last? Is it still daily? Is the transit system exempt?

Thanks alot, particularly to anyone responding from the Tokyo area.

The blackouts ended a month ago. You won't hvae any trouble traveling in and around Tokyo.

Isnt it "interesting"

that the mainstream western press did not even mention a PEEP about this happening. I knew about TEPCO ending the blackouts for the moment from following the press in Japan.

Of course, it was not BAD news about Japan. So why print/say it? BAH!

BTW... it is possible they will resume as the summer rolls around with its high air conditionaing loads.
