Smile Japanese good/bad point - 05-01-2011, 07:27 AM

Please tell me about Japanese people's good/bad points.
I am a teacher in Japan. I want to discuss about 'What is Japanese?' with my students. I want to have many opinions from foreigners.

Culturally, Japanese are sheep with a moral compass.

I seriously doubt Japanese people think about "what is Japanese"...

Just like you don't think about "what is American"...

Let's not over-analyze the question. If you have something to contribute, please do.

Actually Japanese people do tend to think "What is American" lol

Basically it's a white guy, probably with a name like "Todd" or "Chad", who wears things like polo shirts on top of jeans.

I am somewhat concerned that people, as a whole, tend to hide their emotions. They hide behind a courteous smile. I wonder if being more expressive would be better for all. In Spain, where I was born, and here in the States, you speak your mind.

I understand that's how things are and so on and so forth. I was just responding to the question. However, I cannot say if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
