Age of concent
 

Researching the age of concent in Japan I am really struggling to find solid information. Just lots and lots of sites with the same litle factoid- 13 nationally but with different prefectures setting different ages up to 18 (18? Damn thats crazily high...).
I wonder- does anyone have any access to the information on exactly what these different ages are in the different prefectures?

Considering still on the front page is a thread I made about the Japanese legal system people might get the wrong idea here....so let me just say this is purely out of interest.I don't at all plan to test these laws. :p
I'm wondering if there's any pattern to different ages- mroe conservative prefectures vs more progressive ones? Or just a random scatter gun effect?

Legality and teen drama doesn't sound like a happy place to me.

If you're a teen it isn't, but if you're a dirty old man it's easy to ignore the drama and reap the rewards!

Fine, what are the different age of consent laws then?

well in my country it is 16.
but actually no one cares if girl/boy is lets say 15 and the partner is 20 and up to 25, maybe 30.
but when you do go in 30's+ then the chances are some people will ask some things.

That can go both ways too. See some young 18 to 24 year old cutie hanging on some 80 year old fart's arm..and not like a grand daughter would either..would leave some folks with the impression of a "Gold Digger".
