Japanese Word for...

Hi, i heard a long time ago that samurai were cuting down bystanders just to test their sword and that there is a word in japanese for that. 1st of all i think thats crazy but a bit funny as well(black humour..), 2nd of all i forgot what the word was :(

So does anyone know how they call it when a samurai cut a bystander just to test his (new?) sword?

would appreciate a good answer :ywave:

I think the word you are looking for is 辻斬り which is read as つじぎり
