Self-preservation?

For those still on the steep end of the learning curve, let's start a topic about religion or "iphone vs. Android" for practice, and see how well that goes.

Religion is a subject that is against the rules, so it is the fast track to a warning and a ban.

As for the original question...

Perhaps because "Japanese economy" is an incredibly broad subject, and most threads here are about more detailed things.
If there is something related to the Japanese economy that you would like to discuss - try making a thread about it instead of complaining about the lack of one. Being as you were able to create this thread, it shouldn`t be beyond your abilities.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

No skin off my back with that.

But how one can distinguish religious conversation from one that discusses economy after, say 50 threads? Not trying to throw socialism into anybody's capitalism here, just presenting an alternative PoV as to why nobody discusses it. At least not in wide-ranging general terms.

Oh, hey! Here's one: Why is Japanese technical prowess plummeting? Quite a leading question, so here's some background: Everybody has heard of Japanese robots, and how they're pretty much the only robots in the world that have not been designed with maiming and killing humans in mind. Some of you may have heard how a Japanese robot won the world championship of robot steeplechase, an admirable feat in robotics. Then why robots and drones used in Fukushima are American? Why have several Japanese manufacturers told me that when in need of electronics, look to China instead, and when in need of optics, look to Europe? Why did a Japanese customer ask me at a Trade Show that "I hope this is not Japanese made"? True stories, but won't go into details, sorry. Might turn into a social thread, but some economical aspects might survive the thread of time.

Can you start a new thread in the general discussion? I think this will be an interesting topic to debate about... but this is probably not the right thread to do it

But there is a flaw in that rule. It doesn't stop Athiests criticising religion. And that will only lead to religious discussion.

Being as I have banned several people, closed numerous threads, and have issued countless warnings about it... I beg to differ. Criticizing religion *IS* religious discussion.

Sure, why not. Things here are slow today.

Oh, hey, guys? Let's take it easy, shall we? We're all friends here, right? I'm sorry, allright? I didn't mean to start an avalance or anything here. It was supposed to be a funny rhetorical anecdote, y'know. C'mon, guys! Don't do it! Just say no! You don't want to go that road. Hey! Hey!! Don't do it, man!
... or something to that effect, right after the obligatory and self-righteous Quod Erat Demonstrandum
