What was the effectiveness of Kamikaze? - 10-18-2011, 08:25 PM

Godzilla Symbolism

Japan was reduced to reliance upon a last ditch kamikaze defense of the home islands, which would cause so many US casualties that a favorable peace might still be obtained
I was wondering how "would cause so many US casualties" came out to be.

what is there not to understand?

if a car comes at you. yes, you can shoot it or even kill the driver, but it is still going straight and it will still hit you.
the same goes for pilots.

also, most of them where high on meth (methamphetamine) - so they really didn't have any second thoughts about what they where doing.

Most kamakazi died before they ever hit thier targets. The few who did get through did cause alot of casulties. I believe 30,000 or so total dureing the later part of the war.

It was discovered after Japan had surrendored that the main islands were full of stockpiled planes and bunkers with a civilian population brainwashed into suicide brigades. Conservitive estimates of the Invasion of Japan was roughly 1.1 million Americans and 4 to 6 million Japanese.

Gee, I dunno. Someone did a kamikaze with a couple of passenger planes about nine years ago. That caused a hell of a lot of US casualties.

Yeah. THAT. With smaller planes, but more of them.
