Ok, before you go any further...what GSm do you need?
Because the 850 is a triband phone...and the d900 is a quadband. generally you need a quadband phone to use it in north america..but some carriers don't require you too. So who would be your phone provider?

Also, the 850 doesn't have EDGE...a setback, seeing how its way better than GPRS.

I can't vouch for samsung phone reception, seeing how I've never used one before. But SE phones have always had amazing reception for me (they are my phone of choice ).

In the end, they're not THAT different from each other. THings to keep in mind when making the final choice:
  • Price difference
  • Triband or Quadband
  • Edge or GPRS
  • storage medium: microSD or M2? (M2 are a lot more expensive)
  • embedded storage is bigger on d900
  • 850 has video calling capability (seeing how its becoming the new thing in N.A market now)
Biggest thing to check, quad or tri. no point going any further if you can't even use thge phone for its most basic function...making phone calls.
THe 850 is only lacking the GSM850 fyi...

Kudou out.

Whats the difference between the D900 and the D900i. I can't really tell the difference.

Samsung has a better camera and can view document files, but the Sony looks to be more musically capable.

They're both just as good. What one lacks the other one makes up for. I'm stuck between choice. Maybe I'll just be biased and get the Sony Ericsson just because it's Japanese lol XD
