Name: Murasaki [name taken from "The Tale of Genji"]
coming to you from: ----
First breath: April 20th
Intentions and whatnot: Living where I do-there aren't too many other people who are deeply interested in the Japanese culture, so I figured that Japanforum would be a good place to chat-it-up
Why do you want to go to Japan: It's so different from the US-people are more polite-food is healthy-and one of my few life goals is to become fluent in the language.

Name: Rei
Coming to you from: The Bay Area (orginally from San Fran-freak-show)
First Breath: October 13, 1979 (yeppers im almost 30! Woot!)
Intentions and whatnot: I saw an ad for this website in Shojo Beat. I like reading mangas (apart from almost everything else in the literary world). & I did belong to another forum years ago but it folded *tear. & i would like to meet new people that share the same interests.
Why do you want to go to Japan: Why not? Its bright, exciting, crowded. kinda reminds me of S.F. i would love to go there because there seems to be stuff that either the US doesnt have or retro stuff that we no longer have. Plus i love Japanese cuisine...yum!
Favourite Manga/Anime: Wow...where do i begin? Well i love Sailor Moon (duh!) Was first introduced to this genre by watching Robotech back in the day. (Miriya will always be my fave!). I'm currently reading/watching: Negima!. Hellsing, Love *Com, Death Note, Kaze Hikaru, Aishiteruze Baby, La Corda D'oro, Nana, Mushishi, Kingdom Hearts, Magic Knight Rayearth, Millenium snow, Baby & me, Beauty Pop, honey & Clover (& the rest of the manga in Shojo Beat)...but I'm always looking for more!

Name: Hennaz (i'm not telling you my real name )
Coming to you from: England
First Breath: 11th May 1991, 6:58pm
Intentions and whatnot: I found this website on the ads section of engrish.com. It said that japanforum.com is where lovers of japan could talk about the country and j-culture. Because I like japan so much, i thought i'd sign up to this site. So far, i love it!
Why do you want to go to japan: I have been so interested in japan for so many years i lost count, but i think it began with my liking for video games, pokemon and anime like digimon and dragonball. But then i liked japan because of its electronics, its food and its art. I've browsed through atlases, encyclopaedias and factbooks about japan, and then i wanted to learn the language! I have learned japanese for about 2 years now (i'm tutored), the kana is pretty easy to learn, but kanji is the most difficult part to learn, i think I last went to japan last summer, where i met some japanese girl i've fallen in love with in yokohama When i've finished all of my exams and studies next year, i wanna go back to japan for a gap year before university, where i can earn money by teaching english, stay longer with my crush, learn more japanese and their history and culture, go to places like okinawa, kyoto and sapporo, and so on...
