Smile Hello From California - 05-17-2008, 05:34 PM

Hi all!
My name is Steve and I work for Magnolia Gold Records.
This is Delaney Bramlett's own label.

Delaney has worked with all the Beatles but Paul, produced Eric Clapton's fist Solo Album and has co-written numerous songs with Leon Russell, and had his songs covered by 100's of artists.
The biggest hit of them being "SuperStar", and "Never Ending Song of Love" that has been in a couple movies.

What I am looking for in this forum, are some people that can direct me towards Japanese Radio Stations that broadcast American Blues.

I would love to get this CD going in Japan and if any of you can help me that would be great.

You can email me directly at fischlerpromo[at]dslextreme.com.

Thanks so much for any help you can give.

Peace,
Steve Fischler

So seeing as this is my first post here, some info is in order I suppose. This is going to be pretty dull, but if you choose to read, awesome.

BASIC INFO
Name: Peter
Location: KY, USA
B-day: November 8, 89 (18. Graduating from high school in like a week)
Sex: male
Occupation: Currently a student, but I plan to work in IT after I graduate (I have half the a+ cert. Taking the other exam in 6 days.)
Beliefs: no. seriously.

APPEARANCE
Height: 5' 7" (little shorter than average)
Weight: about 120 lbs
Hair: Dark brown, almost black, and long (maybe a foot and a half? not to my belly button yet)
Eyes: brown, and they tell me that they're "almond shaped"
Body type: thin. too thin really, but I look slightly muscular just because of definition due to lack of fat

HOBBIES
This gets its own (gigantic) section. My hobbies are very important to me. The biggest one is juggling. I'm currently working on getting a consistent 7 ball qualify, and hopefully I'm going to compete at the international juggling association festival this summer!
I also have a few other juggling/dexterity related hobbies that I never really got that into. Contact juggling, diablo, zippo tricks, rubiks cube, devil stick, etc. I was very into penspinning for awhile, and I still do it a lot in school, but I haven't learned much in a long time.
I also play the acoustic guitar and sing. A lot of people have told me that I learned that quickly, so there's probably some truth to that.
Reading is a big one. As far as fiction goes I mostly read sci-fi and fantasy, although it's always nice to branch out and see other genres. I recently read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, which is a novel that presents a philosophical manifesto of sorts. I don't entirely agree with all that Rand says in the book, but I do highly recommend reading it. I also like reading nonfiction. Economics, philosophy, and sometimes history.
Other random hobbies include chess, music (my brother says I listen to more genres of music than anyone else he's ever met), writing the occasional poem, and a bunch of other assorted randomness (I'm sure I'm missing something).
I don't watch tv. I'll sometimes watch a movie, or a show on dvd, but watching actual tv is just not a good idea in my opinion. I feel that it detracts from learning, and I try to base my life around learning as much as possible and bettering myself every day.
Speaking of which, there are three things I have been putting off learning for years. 1 - drawing. 2 - programming. 3 - japanese. By joining this forum I hope to learn as much as I can about the only language I've ever wanted to learn.

REASONS FOR WANTING TO LEARN JAPANESE
1. Japanese sounds, and looks, beautiful.
2. Learning a foreign language is something everyone should do.
3. Money. Knowing Japanese makes a person more employable.
4. Understanding anime/manga/j-music in it's unaltered form.
5. Communicating with the most beautiful women in the world (only half joking)

So that was my way too long intro thread. I assume no one will read it, but hey, you can't have everything in life, right? Anyway, I have already begun to learn the hiragana, and I plan on buying the first genki textbook and renting or borrowing (cause there's no way I'm buying) the pimsleur cds. I'm taking a year off of school to get my career started, but when I go to college I'm going to take classes in Japanese, so I guess if I'm completely on the wrong track, it'll only be that way for a year or so. Btw, if you actually read this, send me a pm so I can thank you personally, and possibly apologize. No one should have to suffer through all this. No one.

See you around the forums.

Hello, J.P!
My name is Charmy and I'm new to these forums.
I'm 17 years young and am very much into the Japanese fashions.

My main themes are Lolita and Decora. I love to watch anime and create my own manga also. Although, many here in my home town don't seem to understand my interests and "strange" tastes, I could care less what they thought of me just by judging me from appearance and not really getting to know who I really am.

One day, I hope to live in Japan (preferably Tokyo) and I know that must seem cliche because I know many others who wish for the same as I. I love not only the fashions of Japan but the culture too. It leaves me in awe. I desprately want to learn their language too.

I'm rather childish for my age and impulsive but when people get serious, so do I. I'm smarter than I seem and have had people question me or think I'm stupid just because I seem so child-like. Others have mistaken me for a 12 year old or 14 year old, which I would probably find more flattering if I was older. Tee-hee.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I'm rambling but I didn't want to not say anything about myself in my own introduction. I hope to make many friends here and thank you for reading my post.

Hi Everyone!

Name: Claudia
Coming to you from: Belgium
First Breath: November 4th
intentions and whatnot: I am studying to become a translator (Dutch, English, German and French), so I'm obviously very interested in languages. I really like Japanese because it is very different from any language I'm learning right now. I might do an evening course next year to learn it.
I also love the Japanese culture and would also like to know more about the history of Japan.
why you want to go to Japan: Foreign cultures really speak to me, and Japan is at the top of my list. To me it seems really fun and mysterious. I would really love to visit Japan some day but I'm afraid, being a student, I don't have the money for it.
