Masegu's point is that Halloween is an American holiday, so why should people in Japan be expected to celebrate it. Just as Obon is an Japanese holiday, so we don't recognize it in America.

And even here in the U.S. where we warped the even of All Saints Day and Samhain into Halloween, it gets very distorted according to the community/area you are in.

They celebrate halloween but it isn't as important and not many people dress up or take it seriously, they're more fussed with christmas + valentines, more major holidays I think,, atleast that's what i read in a magazine
