Thank you very much for your guidance. We are considering a different plan:

Nagoya > Takayama > Kanazawa > Tokyo

(1) Nagoya > Takayama - via LTD. EXP (WIDE VIEW) HIDA
(2) Takayama > Kanazawa - via LTD. EXP (WIDE VIEW) HIDA + SHINKANSEN
(3) Kanazawa > Tokyo - via SHINKANSEN

Are you aware if any JR Pass covers these trains? If not, what are the alternatives?

I have no idea for the case of using JR railroad pass. You just asked for the time to transfer not for the money.
