Cycling Across Japan - 05-02-2017, 03:09 AM

For some years now I have wanted to ride my bicycle across Japan. I have finally made the plans, and will spend one month on the trip.

I will begin in Wakkanai in Hokkaido, the northernmost point, and ride southward to Nagasaki. The total distance is 2509 kilometers, and I have one month to finish the ride.

My ride will start in August, which is a hot and humid time of year. I had planned to ride in September, but my wife's sister is having a baby that month, and in October we will be spending our vacation in Hawaii.

I have begun training for the trip, riding my bike 30 minutes each day. By August I will be riding for 5 hours a day. I'm looking forward to the ride and the scenery, and getting out of Tokyo for a month.

Imagining the scenery that awaits you is enough motivation. Wow.

Don't forget to bring a camera with you so you can capture and share those moments.
