Which is worse? Asashoryu or Ozawa? - 02-05-2010, 02:56 PM

Which do you think deserves to lose their job more, Yokozuna Asashoryu or Democratic Party of Japan General Ozawa?

Context for those who aren't well-versed in Japanese sport or politics?

speaking purely from my own opinion i think Ozawa is terrible. Yokozuna Asashoryu has already quit because of his behavior and gave a public apology. But when i hear Ozawa speak i get these creepy vibes up my spine that says the man lies about everything.

I think we need a few more votes in here.

But Yokozuna Asashoryu was one of a very few I enjoyed watching, back when I got Japan TV.

An interesting question: Ozawa is an excellent example of what many people are saying is wrong with Japanese politics .........nothing changes. The situation with Asashoryu seems to be very similar ......nothing in Sumo really changes. The popularity of Asa surely shows that their is room for Sumo to "modernize" itself slightly. Won't Sumo lose it's appeal to younger Japanese if they don't make changes to make it more attractive for younger people to view, and even participate?
