need help for going 2 japan as exchange student

i am going to go to japan next year. some of my friends are saying that i should go as an exchange student but i dont know if i should if i were 2 how would go bout doing that

Most exchange programs take applications about a year in advance, so I would talk to a school counselor about it, today.

It depends on type of schooling are currently receiving or will receive next year.
