Tokyo festivals question. - 03-07-2008, 02:13 PM

Hi everybody

Does anybody have any details on any temple festivals in Tokyo from 28th March to 6th of April. I have done some research and found out stuff on Sakura Matsuri and Sakurabashi Hana-Matsuri. But the dates say from late March to early April. I assume this means that the festival could be on any date between then as oppose to it being on every night during this time. But I could be wrong. Anyway I would be very grateful if any one could give me specific dates on any festivals during the time I'm in Tokyo.

Thanks
Dakan

I think the date depends on whether sakura comes into bloom or not. You should go when sakura is in full bloom.

This picture shows that sakura in Tokyo bloomed on March 25 last year.

I've found this Sakurabashi Hana-Matsuri at Enjoy Tokyo.
This page says that the festival is on April 5 and 6 at Sumida Park. The nearest station is Asakusa.

Rurubu gave me three different festivals named Sakura Matsuri from late March to early April. Which one?

Thanks Michigan90 for that info. I'll keep my eyes and ears open while I'm there. Hopefully where I'm staying might have some details. I'd love to experience the temple festival scene with fireworks and miko etc.
