ive read all the books and everything about japan and im even learning how to speak japanese. does it help me to get all this knowledge??

It is always good to have a basic itinerary in mind when you go. So that you get to see everything you plan to. Although nothing needs to be written in stone. It’s also a good idea to check what train lines you need to use and when to get off, in order to get to places you plan on visiting.

Is there any particular 'knowledge' you’re concerned about?

lol im doing the same thing cause i want to do foriegn exchange in japan and you need to learn alot before you head out , so you are pretty much on the right track! ^.^

Ive been reading books for like 2 years on japan, I still dont have a clue where im gunna go when I get there later this year, I need a travel buddy haha! but books r cool anyhow, what sort of stuff on tokyo have you been reading?

What interest you most? The country, as many books have put it, is a blend of entertainment, culture, trends and fashion, so as others have suggested, decide on your own itinerary first.

Of course, there is always the "mix" where you visit a bit of everything...
