Who's in Japan this Summer???

Hi there

I'm planning a trip to Japan this Summer. I will be working over there in june/july (research exchange). Afterwards, about 26th of july - 20th of august, I want to discover this fascinating country.
As I am not going to some school, I am a bit afraid of not finding friends over there. I want to discover all the big cities, experience japanese culture, enjoy sushi & co as well as japanese bathing, karaoke bars etc etc, whatever YOU are interested in, too...
I'm 23 years, female, from switzerland and I study Medicine resp. Biomedicine.

WHAT DO YOU WANT DO DISCOVER IN JAPAN??
INTERESTED TO GET TO LEARN OTHER PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD?
BECAUSE I AM. NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE FROM, WHETHER YOU ARE/SPEAK JAPANESE OR NOT, ARE MALE OR FEMALE...

Especially if you are willing to meet me somewhere in Japan...

i am going to go to japan in summer as well ( 4th July - December). Near Osaka region.

wow, gleich ein halbes jahr gehst du, cool! was machst du so lange in japan???
dann bleibst du eher an diesem einen ort, bzw. in der nähe von osaka, hast du gar nicht gross vor, die insel zu umreisen?

ich antworte dir lieber auf Englisch so dass alle mitlesen können.

i plan on learning Japanese there for 6 Months. I will be staying at my Grandma's place in Wakayama, which is about 1 hr away from Osaka. What about you? Where will you be?

In my free time I do would like to travel the country and explore cool places. I want to visit each place possible, from south to north. Since i am half Japanese, half Swiss i feel i got to know everything possible about Japan.
Maybe we can arrange something some day.

i live over here in Yokohama (relocating to a nice place in kami-itabashi near Ikebukuro in 2 weeks though) and will be here all summer

I have an interview with a job in Urawa. Either way though, it looks like I should be hired somewhere before June 10th.

I will be in Japan for 1 year from June 2008 and will start off in Tokyo.
Than i want to move North to Hokkaido and come back to Tokyo for winter and work a little bit. In Spring i want to travel the southern part of Japan.
I actually want to buy a car, if that works out somehow, so i would be happy if someone would join me or meet me somewhere

Ah im German 24 M and live really close to Basel, so schweizerdeutsch is no problem

Oh yeah, i´m there on a working holiday visa, so i want to learn more japanese, see the country and especially meet many many people

I already got some friends from my time in Australia, but im open to meeting new people anytime. I think i´ll open a different thread later with some more outlined dates and some questions.

I might be in Tokyo from June to july, not sure yet.

i might go to another country and romp around also, i've been to japan soo many times, but i always love it.

ill be in japan from 1 july to 5 august with a friend of mine, we will be in osaka first period and later in tokyo,

I should be buying the tickets this month,,,,,, of course 2 tokyo in this july/august. maybe 2 or three weeks.

and don't mind meeting up with anyone, even CRAZY ONE

. actually i like it, i think it is fun.
