Ikebukuro to Roppongi - 05-15-2008, 03:36 PM

Hi hi hello,

I shall be staying in the heart of Ikebukuro during the latter half of June this year. During this time I wish to visit a place called 'SuperDeluxe' to see some musical acts. To get there I need to get off at Roppongi Station. Just wondering, how do I go about getting from Ikebukuro Station to Roppongi? Could anyone also fill me in on the length of the journey? I will need to get there at about 18:00, so I'll probably be returning a little late. Is it possible, and above all safe, to be taking the train at a late hour?

Thank you in advance for all and any help.

The fastest way would be :

Ikebukuro > Yoyogi by JR Yamanote line (takes about 10 minutes)

Yoyogi > Roppongi by Subway To-ei Ohedo line (takes 7 minutes)

Tokyo is a very safe city in general. I've lived in central Tokyo for over 20 years and I'm still in one piece. But if you're female, you might want to avoid walking around Roppongi alone after around 12 midnight. That's where a lot of foreign residents, tourists and the U.S. soldiers go to drink. So it CAN get pretty wild at times.

www.hyperdia.com

has ALL the major train routes - just type in start and finish places, select when you want to depart/arrive and it tells you what lines to use
