Cheap trip to Japan? - 08-05-2007, 09:21 AM

Is there any way to get a cheap trip (or even a free ride!) to Japan?

I'm thinking maybe there is a company or government program that flies people in Japan to work for them, or something? Heh. Worth a shot.

Anyways, I'm a student at the moment that just got back from nepal, so I really have no money at all - but I want to see more of asia, and go to Japan before I start uni. What would be the cheapest way for me to see Japan? I've done alot of travelling, so I don't mind roughing it a little to cut costs. I need cheap flight, cheap accommodation and cheap food!

Any suggestions where I can find cheap trips like this?

Just from the top of my head, a students exchange program, should get you a free plane ticket+you won't be paying for sleeping arrangements, food etc.

people over look travel agencies these days.

they do every thing online.

travel agencies can really hook u up.

student tickets are usually 1000 dollars less then the average price.

JTB USA
is a agency that specializes trips from US to Japan and back.

got my tickets for like 600 when average goin price was 2000

pends on the season but expect to save alot of money with them.

students Fly cheaper so try lookin for student flights

hope that helps a bit

For a free flight, you could PROBABLY be a courier. Research online. Basically you give up your space in lugage to a package that needs to be sent to Japan, and you take the seat. (Basically wear tons of clothing on the flight and overstuff your carry ons). In terms of room and board, hostels are the way to go whenever you're young and with no money. So just find a cheap hostel.
