faxing japan - 06-02-2008, 04:56 PM

I am sending a fax to Japan from my job.

I have to hit 9 to dial out.

then i hit 0011

and then dial the number in the following format (xx) xx xxx xxxx

is there anything i am missing or do i have the country code wrong

i am in the u.s. if it makes a difference

81 (JAPAN)

then the number, removing the first "0" (zero)

thanks. i was hoping you specifically would answer. lol. but it didn't work. should i dial 1 after the 9 and before 011?

as in 9-1-011-46-xxx-xxxx

I don't think so...but it is worth a try.

These days with different phone companies, they may have different ways to call internationally.

You are forgetting the 81 country code

it worked. i had to go to kinko's and it cost $10!

$10 isn't that bad. i used to have to fax to a office in Japan all the time and we would have been thrilled with only a $10 charge. Its why I had to learn to operate and old telex machine.... it was cheaper.

The nice part was the telex was how I first began to learn a few phrases in Japanese through romaji.
