Renting an Apartment? - 09-15-2008, 12:59 PM

Hey all. Quick question, hoping you's can help. A friend and I are hopefully planning on heading over to Japan around this time next year. Now, flight wise we've already got plans and ideas about (flying from England to Kuwait, stay at his then fly the rest of the distance to Japan. Same thing in reverse on the way back), but I'm trying to keep it on a low budget. So what I'm trying to find is something like renting an apartment for anywhere between 2 weeks and a month.
Ideally it would be near Tokyo, as thats kind of where we want to get to. But Japan is Japan so I'm not too fussy. Any help would be graciously appreciated.

You want a weekly mansion. I hear people talking about "Sakura House". I believe they specialize in this, but I have never used them.

Sakura House wants minimum 1 month so unless you have a friend in Tokyo who could do the check out for you, I wouldn't recommend Sakura House cos you would lose your deposit of 30,000yen per person.

Instead, stay with Hostels as they offer cheaper prices than anybody else in Tokyo.

Hostels or guesthouses are your best bet (when on a budget). There are guesthouses where you can rent rooms for just a couple of weeks too, I believe. But you have to do some searching... Just mail around alot.
