If you are tired of night shot, you can hop over to its sister site for some nice day shots

http://www.fukei-kabegami.com/

some of them are really nice, i think if you manage to get some pics for the Meiji Shrine, it will be great to put them up there too. I registered as contributor to both sites, but haven't contribute anything yet... will do so soon though
I see. Thanks for the info.

Wow, looks amazing, will try to get there tomorrow (will move in my room in Kichijoji tomorrow, so im wont be that far away as now). Who else will be coming? How about meeting for a drink afterwards? anybody in?
Do you know if the Parade starts 17.30 or earlier?
Was somebody around there today? Crowded (well i guess, its Tokyo after all : )
Thanks for that info

I just came back. I went there a bit late (round 18.30-19), so I missed most of the dance performance... but what I saw was pretty sweet though. Got some pictures of that and the surroundings, can post them when I've gone thru 'em (tomorrow probably).

In any case, I liked it! Really nice feeling with all the small lights, etc.

It starts at 6:00 pm and will last about one and a half hours. Remember this is on Omote-Sadou Street. You will be able to see three of Japan's most popular dancing parades in one evening.

1. Awa Odori from Tokushima
2. Eisaa from Okinawa and
3. Yosakoi from Kochi

Sample pics in that order.

I have been there on Saturday like plannend and it was amazing. They created an amazing atmosphere and it looked really mystical. The only little dropback was that there where so many people, but i guess it wouldnt be Tokyo if there would not be so many people. I tried to take some pictures, but it was not so easy, so here are the best ones. I tried to work them over a little bit to get rid of some noise and stuff, but it didnt always work. I also resized them a little bit because it would otherwise take to much time to upload, but the should be enough to make a background. Just to have this said: You can not use this pictures for anything commercial or making money or advertising in anyway and i will always keep the rights for this pictures. But please feel free to use them as Background or show around (sorry ive had some trouble before). Now, enjoy
I just saw that the pictures are still to big for the Forum, so here is the Link to my Album Picasa Web Albums - Dennis - Meiji Jingu I... and now some smaller examples

I went to - it was awesome and the dancing was fab. Today I went to Asakusa and saw the heron dance for culture day. Had to stand on my tiptoes to see but it was worth it. Sensoji was packed!
