Visa Advice?

What kind of visa would you need if you are going to stay with a friends family in Japan and do unpaid voluntary work for up to 6 weeks?

I'm asking for a friend~

Just a tourist visa should be fine.

I looked under "temporary visitor visa" and I don't think a visa is necessary for that situation, but you should double check at that site.
