Going to Japan as High School Exchange Student

Hey Guys,
I'm planning on going to Japan next year with a couple of mates on exchange for about 2-3months into a high school and I just want to know when are the school holidays in tokyo usually and um... when is the best time do you think I should go? I want to go so that I have school time there and also holiday time, as I really want to explore some places or like go to a shrine

I was going to japan as a foreign exchange student(high skool) for my Senior year, but I messed that opportunity up. >.<"!!

Shool has holidays on spring,summer,winter
I think spring holiday is the best.
because between the last week of March and the first week of April is
the best season to see cherry blossoms.
Japanese shrine has a lot of cherry blossoms.
Especialy YASUKUNI shrine has realy very beautiful cherry blossoms.
and the end of week April and the first week of May,we have a holiday,
we called it Golden week.It is very warm , and almost sunny day.
but,At June, we have the rainy season.
the rainy season continuses until July.

Hey, Thanks alot guys , I really did not want to waste an opportuninty because a couple of nights ago I was like... If I don't go, I will never experience a Japanese high school in my lifetime. SO i Decided to do it .
Yes I think I will go around the cherry blossom time as it will look really nice...
