Nagoya to Tokyo, how?
Hey, I'm going to be living in Nagoya, right next to Nagoya subway station. Is it possible to get to Tokyo from there by train? Anyone know where the train is, or how long it takes to get there? Thanks in advance.

If you`re referring to the actual Nagoya station, then it will be a massively large station where you can just go and hop on the shinkansen to get to Tokyo in a bit less than 2 hours. (Depends on which train but usually around an hour and a half). All the lines pretty much converge at Nagoya station, so it will be pretty hard not to be able to find it. If you`re just going to be by some subway station in Nagoya, then things are a bit different... |

I lived in a suburb of Kyoto city. For me is was a short train ride to Kyoto main station to hop on the Shinkansen. You may have to hit the main station and do the same if you are more suburbia. |
Thanks a lot, ya, I'm talking about Nagoya station itself, the big one. I was looking on maps to see where the train rails were, but couldn't find them. I'm glad it's a pretty easy trip

There are also night buses that are cheaper. |
That link (Train Route Finder by Jorudan Co.,Ltd.) is really helpful, but when I tried looking at the map, it wouldn't work. Something about an API error or something. Too bad, really useful if it worked.

An unreserved seat was only 3980 yen one way....
