I caught this little monster while hiking this morning. At the moment he is sitting in a box next to my pc giving me a dirty look.

I got better pictures of him on film as I didn't have my D300 with me, I'll put those up once I get them developed and scanned.

That's a very amazing picture. What is that, a Hercules beetle?

I took the bug with me to work, my students should get a kick out of it. These bugs are strong by the way, the feet have needle sharp claws, and if they grab onto you, it is hard to get them off. At least they don't bite.

That Asian hornet aside (for obvious reasons), bugs don't bother me. Not anymore, after letting a HUGE camel spider crawl across me once.

I'm not a soldier or anything, just an idiot teenager with connections, lol.

But yeah, after having that thing crawl on me then watching it eat... I was like o_0 at first, but then I just figured "live and let live."

I've always wanted to see one of those beetles in person though... They look so... Well, they look pretty cute, honestly.
