Any advice on skiing mid December?
 

We arrive Tokyo 16 December for 14 days and want to include 7-8 days skiing. My initial plan was Hakuba but now I wonder if there will be good snow at that time and wondered if anyone can advise or suggest where is good early in season. Would prefer not to trek to Hokkaido.

Also accommodation suggestions would be very helpful as I am finding the huge range quite daunting. We would prefer a japanese style family run accommodation with dinner options incase we can't get out to eat.

Is there anywhere in the Yuzawa area that is not inundated by daytrippers from Tokyo? I noticed some of the mountains there are quite high so maybe more snow?
