Going to Japan December to January

Hi ppl,

I'm going to Japan from 26th December till 11th January. Well that's the time I have to travel. I have basically taken an itinerary from Japan Guide.

Japan Travel Itinerary - 16 days

It goes to the places I want to visit. What do you think about this itinerary for the time I will be travelling. Should I change it? to what? why?

I wish to experience Japanese culture, life, nature, history. Do you have any suggestions, tips or advice?

Oh and my budget is around ¥400,000 or $5,000AUD

Your budget should be fine, I am just worried about Dec 31- Jan 3 when much of the country shuts down for New Year's.

Your not the only one. But I cant go any later. Have to be finished by January 11th, and want to do some decent travel. So I figure what the hell, go and do what I can, see what I can.

No trip to Hokkaido? This is unacceptable!
I've never been, because I don't have the money, but Hokkaido is something I wouldn't miss out on.
