Super Azusa - 12-23-2009, 07:09 AM

Dear Advisor,

I'll be arriving Tokoyo on 15 Feb 2010 with my family. We will be gg to Hakuba the following day, 16/2. I would like to know if the Super Azusa operates on that day as I understand that we can take it from Shinjuku and it will bring us straight to Hakuba and also our return from Hakuba to Narita via Shinjuku on 19 Feb 2010. Does the Super Azusa also operate on that day, ie 19/2?

Pls advise.

TQ & Rgds
Shirley

The answer is affirmative all the way. It operates EVERYDAY.

Here is the timetable:
http://www.hakubagoryu.com/access/jr/tyojr1.html

In case your Japanese isn't great, here's a summary for you. (Super Azusa only)

Shinjuku ---> Hakuba

Between 8:00 and 18:00, the Super Azusa will leave Shinjuku once every two hours. (8;00, 10:00, 12:00, etc.)

Hakuba ---> Shinjuku

6:09
8:53
12:23
15:43
16:28
17:58
___

On the average, it's about a 4-and-a-half-hour ride one way.

Thank you very much. Looks like we should take Azusa 3 for a direct train ride to Hakuba. We'll be staying in Holiday Inn Chiba, so it should be easy for us. Does line Matsumoto start from Chiba?

Yes. Azusa 3 starts from Chiba.

This line is named Chuo Line rather than Matsumoto.
