Ameyoko Shopping Street in Ueno - 12-24-2009, 06:43 AM

Hi

May I know what are the operating hours of Ameyoko shopping street? I plan to go there on 19 Feb 2010 evening ard 7pm, will it still be opened then?

10:00 - 19:00 for the majority of the stores. So, you probably won't get to see much if you go there sevenish.

But all the restaurants etc will still be open at that time so there is no harm in going there for dinner with the possibility of a few open stores.

Unfortunately, there are no restaurants on Ameyoko. You must be talking about Ueno in general.

There are restaurants one alley over from Ameyoko (10 seconds walk or so) on both sides of the tracks, and a couple of kebab places in Ameyoko itself. There are few places in Tokyo where a restaurant of some type is literally not more than a stone's throw away.

But Ameyoko "proper" has no restaurants...and it does close down in the early evening.

i should have been clearer, i didnt mean directly on Ameyoko but instead (as Sangetsu stated) mearly a few steps away.

On my last trip I stayed in Ueno and it was a really great place to stay while in Tokyo - planning my next trip right now and will definately stay there again.
