Clean and inexpensive hotel around Tamaike Sanno - 01-12-2010, 08:45 AM

Work takes me to Japan later this month, and I will need to spend a night or two around Tameike Sanno station (or any of the stations near the US Embassy).

I know there are some very nice hotels around there, but I am looking for something a little less pricey. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Akasaka Hotel Monterey might be a good choice. I admit that I've never stayed there but I've stayed at the hotel in Kobe that's run by the same company and I've always liked it there.

My husband stayed near that station for about a month on a project, and also swears by Toyoko. They`re reasonably priced, clean, have good service - plus, if you join their members` club you receive a free night for every 10 you stay in one of their hotels. They have locations all over Japan, so even if you only stay a night or two now having that card may save you later on if you stay at another of their places.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Akasaka Hotel Monterey looks very nice, but is a little out of my budget. I will look into Toyoko Inn.

Thanks, everybody!
