Maybe 100 years ago, but nowadays it's not that big a deal.

The exchange student that went to my old high chool once said something about blond hair in Japan. I forgot what he said, but I think it was something claiming people with blond hair are thought of as super beautiful or something like that, don't hold it to me though this was like 3 years ago and I bearly remember.

LoL I don't like the look of this stuff and if this is true it means much attention so I have to wear a hat anyway.
Im going to japan someday. I don't want much attention because I didn't find about blonde here in japan or asia so I made a thread.

I have red hair and freckles and after spending three weeks in Tokyo maybe 5 people gave me an extended stare. No one else batted an eyelid, you'll be fine.

My hair is salt and pepper and I'm just glad to still have it. My grand dad was a red head, of Irish decent, with the stereotypical temper to go with it. He lost his hair time he was 27.

I lived in Japan, and I have a shaved head which is quite unusual there (except for monks of course!), so I did get several stares, but in the more touristy areas nobody bats an eyelid. Where I lived, it just made me mroe recognisable so people remembered me!

Na, don`t worry about it.

I hear many Japanese people would love to have blond hair.
