First time in Tokyo

This is our first time in Tokyo. Subway map seems to be a bit complicated. Could anyone help us understand how we can get from Haneda Airport to JR Tsudanuma Station with our hotel 3 min walk from its exit. Also, any other useful information about first stay in Tokyo is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Did a search on Hyperdia for you:

From Haneda, take the Keikyu Line Exp to SHINAGAWA, switch to JR Yokosuka Line, go to Tokyo. From Tokyo take JR Sobu Line and arrive at TSUDANUMA

You can also do a search yourself for alternate routes (or any routes) here

Easy way is take the Tokyo Haneda Monorail to JR Hamamatsucho, Then take any line to get to Shimbashi (the next station). From Shimbashi, change to the Yokosuka/Sobu line and go in the direction where Tokyo Station is your next stop. Tsudanuma is on that track

Suica

I do not know how long will youstay, but I recommend you to get "Suica", prepaid "touch and go" train/bus ticket system. In Tokyo area you can use it for JR, Subway, Bus and other rail way lines.

This is your first time in Tokyo and you want to take the subway with all your bags and jet lagged ? I wouldn't advise it.

I would take one of the airport busses into town, it will only cost you about another 500 yen over the cost of the subway.

I know what you mean. :D

Im going to Tokyo at the end of this month to see the hanami season. I have seen some of the subway maps, and it looks like spagetti.

Subway is easy to figure out every line is colour coded, station numbered and named.

That's when you have a day to discover it though not when you're fresh off the plane for the first time.
