Smile Where in Tokyo can I rent and get dressed up in kimono? - 03-05-2010, 09:17 PM

Hello!

Im in desperate need of information on where in Tokyo I can rent and get dressed up in a real kimono? I mean in a real professional way. With hair styling and the whole thing!

Im going to Tokyo for the hanami-season, and one of my biggest "Japan-dreams" has always been to stroll around in Asakusa or some beautiful shrine grounds under the sakura-trees, wearing a pretty kimono. My friend will of course be my personal photographer. ^^

But where can I rent a kimono and get dressed up?

Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Kimono rental and second hand Kimono shop near by Tokyo

I think something like this will work...I am not sure you want "real professional" as those can cost over 1000 dollars for a day.

Thank you very much for that link. I will look into it.

Yes I know about those expensive kimonos, but I was not reffering to them. By "real professional" I mean generaly good stuff. Good dressers and good kimonos ( but not ultra expensive.)
