Travel cost thread
A lot of us have been to Japan or have plans to go to Japan, being a frequent visitor myself, I am wondering how everyone's budget plans and/or spending habit is. Would you rather go on a budget or let loose with a mentality of "Enjoy first, cost second"?? I myself have tried surviving off 5000 yen a day for a whole week, and have also try going crazy (just last year) and blew 600000 yen in 2 weeks.
How did you, or will you control your spending when you go to Japan? What kind of budget are you going to limit yourself to? And by living this "model" how are you surviving (for example, if you are going to suggest 1000 yen a day, do make suggestions in terms of food, transportation, entertainment and accomodation). So for myself, the really cheap days: Breakfast - 600 yen - Onigiri from Lawson, a bottle of water Transportation - free - walk the entire week Lunch - 700 yen ramen Entertainment -windows shopping Dinner - 1000 yen ramen or katsudon Accomodation 3500 yen (a 7000 yen business hotel with a friend) on that crazy spending weeks Breakfast - room service at my hotel transportation - about 1200 yen a day on densha, somdays are more with taxi Lunch - 1000 yen set lunch at local restaurant Entertainment - 6000yen -15000yen shopping, games, amusement park Dinner - 10000yen-17500yen - fine dining, sushi, teppanyaki Accomodation 28000 yen a night at some 3 or 4 star hotel... |
