Who has been to Japan? - 04-08-2007, 12:16 AM

Has anyone else been to Japan in their life?
If not then why not post why you might want to go there.
For those of us who have gone, tell us of your experiences.

I guess I'll start... Been around Tokyo more than Osaka.
I loved the fact that we were always ahead in anime and manga...
Even ahead with some games...
The technology there was great except for the price of everything.
The girls always wore skirts... which was awsome... *drools*

Has anyone ever been to Narita?
Has anyone accidently wandered into the Red Light District?
Has anyone been to Tokyo Tower... and the one in Osaka?
Done it all...

So you guys post... I don't want to go into detail about...

What goes on in Japan, stays in Japan...

I also been to Japan. I was staying in Tokyo. I enjoyed every time I stayed there. I never been to tokyo tower but I saw it. My brother brought a bike for me so I could get around. I love shopping in the nearest mall. We had to buy our food most of the time because we leaved in an apartment and there were alot od different people living there so we just brought our own food. I loved riding my bike around the neibarhood. The people in japan were very kind when I went shopping and went to the cafe to eat. Also I love hanging out with my brother's friends like his friends named Yuki and Miki and going to the acarde. I also went to the movies there and two concerts with my brother's friend Setsu. All and All I had a blast. As you said the technology there was great except for the price. My friend Setsu brought me a Cell phone when I was done there it was great and I learned Japanese while I was down there as well. I had lots of fun and one day I want to go back.

Magic is all around us. You just need to know where to find it?

The Magical World is were I was born. I control the magical stone called the Sages Stone.

for osaka area, the main redlight district would be located in Shinsaibashi-Namba area or famously called Minami. The second one would be Umeda/Osaka and Juso area

about three years ago I went to Japan as an exchange student. I was living in Nerima-ku, Tokyo, having a rather 'normal' teenager life, meaning I lived in a family, went to school (very traditional girls' school) and so on...

well, I've spent an amazing year there and will finally go back this summer to see everyone again!

I lived in Japan from 1991 to 1993 as a soldier in the US Army stationed at Camp Zama.

As much as I enjoyed my stay there, I would have to admit that I didn't experience nearly enough of what Japan had to offer. That became blantantly obvious when I finally traveled back there last March. It isn't that I didn't do anything off base, it is just that I had two whole years and I didn't do nearly enough. When I met my future wife, things changed a lot as I went all over the area between Zama and Tokyo. Unfortunately that was during the last three months of my tour.

Fast forward to last March. My wife and I went back to visit her folks. Miyako gets to go back home about once a year while this was my first time going back since 1993. My wife made did a very good job of making sure I got to see a lot of Japan for the one week I was there. We went all over Tokyo, Yokohama, Odawara, and Hakone. I even enjoyed myself when venturing around her parents home in Hokone.

We have already set plans for a two week trip next year. We hope the cherry blossoms will cooperate this time as we travel to Osaka and Kyoto for one week. I'm going to treat my In Laws on that portion of our trip. I figure it would make a nice gift for them.
