Fortunately no one in my wife's family was hurt. My Sister-In-Law has no natural gas but has electricity and internet. My Mother and Father-in-law were shaken up but otherwise in good shape. They live down in Hadano and there was very little damage there.
Aftershock is not as frequent but its the Electricity and Transportation that is now the major problem. I strongly suggest to postponed it until everything has calm down a bit.

Yea, we went ahead and cancelled. It just doesn't feel right to be a tourist with everything that is going on. More importantly, we don't want to put any additional burdens on my wife's family. We also don't want to worry mine.

Fortunately American Airlines changed their policy and gave me a full credit travel voucher for my flight. They have also waived all fees. So we're going to try going in the fall..

That's too bad, but I think you made the right decision.

Yea, it kinda sucks. But I'm sure things, in Tokyo, will be much closer to normal in the fall.

I've told my In-laws to get their passports in order. I would be happy to welcome them to Dallas for an extended summer vacation.
