I am traveling to Misawa April 27th to see my son. Any advice on taking the train from Tokyo?

I would look up the JR-East website to see the latest info on train schedules to that area. Since you'd be taking the Tohoku Shinkansen that goes through the affected area, including Sendai, there may be alterations to the normal train service....

I remember Misawa AB fondly. I used to be stationed on "The Hill" from '87-'89....

P.S. It seems the Tohoku Shinkansen is still affected and not operating in areas. You may have to take local trains around the affected areas. The website is:JR-EAST - East Japan Railway Company
