I think toy kangaroos and boomerangs would be a fine idea. There's not really anything specific to tell you for this question.

I've had two Japanese language partners at my school (ages 20 and 22) and they brought me postcards, Geisha stickers, Hello Kitty bandaids, sakura stationary, and some really nice hair stuff that I can't remember the name of. Just small things but it's from their country.
Maybe this will give you some ideas?

When I go to Japan I'm taking Maple hot chocolate mix (I'm from Canada) and also mini stuffed moose with Canadian flags printed on their chest. :P
